ATTENTION ALL STEM CELL ADVOCATES, A CALL TO ACTION!!!

We are soliciting patient advocates to speak on the importance of stem cell research in locations around the country. If you know of an opportunity or would like to participate as a speaker or an audience member in an event, please let us know at inform@americansforcures.org.

There are two critical action items for you to take this week. Both relate to changing the federal policy.

First, we need each of you to write two letters.
• Write to your congressperson. If they voted Yes on HR 3, thank them and encourage them to continue their support in the case of a veto-override. If they voted No on HR 3, tell you story and ask them to change their vote to Yes in the case of a veto-override. • Write to your Senators. You can write to both of your Senators in the same letter to save time. Urge them to vote Yes on S5 and to vote Yes in the case of a veto-override. Also, if you would like to have an even greater impact, please urge Senators from other states who are currently on record opposing the expansion of stem cell research funding to reconsider their position. Second, we need you to send an email to dlife and let your stance on stem cell research be heard. dLife will print every single one out and will hand deliver all of them to Washington, DC. Stem Cell Research Candidates Victorious

November 7th, 2006 was a landmark day for stem cell research. Support for stem cell research proved to have an important impact in a number of key United States House, Senate and Gubernatorial elections. Supporters of the research, whether incumbents or newcomers, found that supporting all types of stem cell research proved to be safe, effective and very valuable to their success.

It is encouraging to pause for a moment and consider how exciting these results are as public support continues to grow in our nation and abroad for this important field of science.
