Stephen Wong, Ph.D., PE
Stephen Wong, Ph.D. (CS), BS (EE hons.), PE (EE) is the founding Director of the Center of Bioinformatics,
Harvard Center of Neurodegeneration and Repair (HCNR), and an Associate Professor (in process)
of Radiology, Harvard Medical School and Brigham & Women's Hospital. Stephen is a hybrid
scientist.
He published over 140 peer-reviewed technical papers and held five patents in biomedical
informatics. He also has broad R&D and executive experience worldwide for two decades
with HP, Bell Labs, Japanese 5th Generation artificial intelligence project, Philips
Electronics, Charles Schwab, and UCSF. He was the architect of UCSF hospital-integrated
PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), founded product development groups of
Philips Medical Systems in Silicon Valley, and headed the Web development effort of one of
the largest secured eCommerce sites (Schwab.com). Stephen received his executive education from
MIT Sloan, Stanford GSB and Columbia GSB.
