BIOINFORMATICS CHALLENGES OF HIGH THROUGHPUT BIOLOGY
Abstract
High throughput centers, from genomic sequencing to protein structure determination, rely heavily on bioinformatics support, since
computer based methods are the only tools that can match the recent growth in high throughput techniques in biology. At the same
time, data coming from such centers offers a unique opportunity to test and validate new algorithms. In this talk, I will review
applications of protein structure modeling, structure and function prediction and new ideas on high throughput protein annotations
in the context of our work with the Joint Center for Structural Genomics, CAMERA and eukaryotic genome annotations.
